This is what led me to create "Warriors", a series representing women through their experience of illness, showing them as the warriors they are. And "Ceux qui vous font sourire" (Those Who Make You Smile), born during Covid to bring a little light into my followers' everyday lives through portraits of well-known personalities.
Behind every illustration, there is an intention and a real person drawing it.
Rouky has been my faithful studio assistant for 6 years. He doesn't draw (yet), but he provides an indispensable presence by my side every day. I had him brought over from France all the way to New Zealand, because a studio without him is simply unthinkable.

They say travel broadens the mind. For me, it mostly made me want to draw everything. My name is Gabrielle, but everyone calls me Anju. After exploring cultures from all corners of the globe, I set my bag down in Auckland. And with it, my studio.
A graphic designer for nearly 10 years, having worked for major groups in print and digital, I eventually listened to that little voice pushing me towards illustration full time. Self-employed for 6 years now, and I haven't looked back.
Today, I work as a freelance illustrator for brands and creatives across Europe and the Pacific from my studio, always under the watchful eye of Rouky.
When I'm not drawing, I'm probably planning my next trip!
